Coal had a massive influence in Wales’ development from the 19th Century onwards. Energy continues to have a profound effect upon the physical and social landscape in Wales. In the last 50 years we have seen a move from coal-mining to renewables with a dramatic changes in physical landscape as th coal-mines once numbers clsoe to 800 were dismantled and wind turbines and solar farms have sprung up. The Energy and Notion project looked into the chages in the landscape and communities that have been affected in South Wales.
